Message From Chamber President

Welcome to the Greater Goldendale Area Chamber of Commerce web-site.

The Chamber's mission is to promote tourism and provide services to travelers in Central and Eastern Klickitat County; as well as supporting businesses and potential businesses in the region.

Traveler services include maps of the area, brochures for accommodations and special features and information on local wineries and winery tours. We also prepare and mail Tourism Packets, Student Packets and Relocation Packets. Our volunteer staff is knowledgable and ready to assist.

We partner with Klickitat County and the City of Goldendale in economic development.

President’s Message

February 2012

By Tom Ireland

I came to the Chamber around 1999 looking for an organization to host an idea I had.  Out of that meeting and several more came “Autumnfest”.  That event came and went but I stayed, liking what I saw in the Chamber as an organization.  I started as a board member, was elected to Vice President, then President for two terms, and have held many board positions over a decade’s time.  I am very dedicated to my involvement in our community.  I have met a lot of very good people along the way, many of whom are not with us today.

The people with whom I am associated at the Chamber are all dedicated to our cause.  We have made many strides in Goldendale through the years, including several town hall meetings, the electronic reader board, Economic Development Council involvement, Town Pride committee, connections with the city, county and, more importantly, with you, the members of the Chamber and our community.

I am passionate about community.  Next to family, it is about as important as it comes in our need to connect.  And connect we will this year at the Chamber.  We have a good board in 2012 and plan to actively pursue the goals we are setting for ourselves and the Chamber as a whole.  You will see us gain speed as the year unfolds.

In January, we began planning events and meetings to engage all of us to create a better Goldendale.  Join us for the Town Hall meeting on March 6 at the Grange and at the Legislators’ meeting at the end of March, also at the Grange.  On our 2012 schedule is the Home and Garden Show in April, the Bluegrass Festival in June, Community Days in July, and Sovren’s  Maryhill Loops Hill Climb in late September or early October.  And those are just the Chamber-involved events.

Our community has many more events scheduled; check out our calendar.  We, the Chamber board members, will balance our energies this year between economic development, our membership, and the community. Come in, say hello and let us know what we can do for you.
